KKBN Pet of The Week (2/21/12)
Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Pet of the Week:
My dog Bandit, look’n cool! We found Bandit as a two week old pup in the road about a year ago and he came right in and became part of the family! This dog is awesome, he can sing and say “I love you.” He also loves to wear costumes. Most dogs rip them off, but Bandit will wear costumes and hats, in this picture he wears a scarf and glasses. He walks all over the house with them on. Bandit’s favorite thing to do is to go hiking, he even has his own backpack which he gets many complements on!

Christina
KKBN Pet Of The Week Award (02/14/12)
Meet Monty and Duke! Monty is our little 3 year old 6lb Deer Chihuahua (yes, that is his real breed’s name due to the length of their legs, long and narrow like a deer) and Duke, our 1 year old 105lb American Bulldog/Rottweiler mix. Monty and Duke are best buddies and do absolutely everything together. As you can imagine, Monty runs the household and is the boss because he is the “big” brother. These two dogs bring so much humor, joy, and love into our home and this picture I feel shows them at their best.

A Big KKBN Congrats to Kakao..our KKBN Pet Of The Week! Check out the story behind our winner!
Kakao is a 6 year old Dutch Sheppard who is truly the best dog-friend ever! Not only is she well trained and responsive to voice commands, she is the best companion on long day hikes to the top of Sierra mountain peaks (as pictured on top of the Dardanelle’s in July, 2011). With her doggie-pack on her back, she abounds with excitement at every opportunity to hit the track!
She is obsessed with tennis balls. There isn’t a place she goes without one in her mouth, hoping to awe some sucker into playing fetch. She will run miles and leap off rocks, never tiring to fetch her catch (such as she is pictured here at Cherry Lake in June, 2011.)
Despite she has four legs, she can swim like a fish. If there’s water, combined with a stick, she will be happy for hours. She is one dog that keeps me from being lazy and continues to love me like crazy!
Kakao is certainly one-of-a-kind and in my mind, the best dog-friend one can find!

KKBN Pet of The Week (01/24/12)
This is Trey, he is a 25plus quarter horse gelding with a remarkable story.
Trey was a show horse and won many ribbons and such but when he no longer could show he was sold and passed around from owner to owner. He was sent to winton from San Diego by a seller to a lady who bought him sight unseen for a lesson horse. He did not work out for her so she decided to give him away. I was still recovering from a bad riding accident and I was drawn to Treys story of rejection so I went to meet him and took him home. Through the friendship of this horse I was able to overcome my fears of riding and together we have helped heal each other. Come to find out later after many rides that he was a halter horse in shows and was never ridden. I think its a true test of faith and trust that he has kept me safe on our journeys together and I could not ask for a better friend. I hope you agree that he truely is a “miracle” sent to me. And I would like him to be considered for amazing friend of the week!!!!
Sincerely,
Wanda Wolski and Trey

Ps. You and Bridgette rock my days Big Joe, we love your show!
Treys telling me to “turn it up!!!”
